Actor Paul Walker was laid to rest on December 15, 2013. As a fan of the late actor, I’m still in the mourning phase. Paul Walker was the heart of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise. It’s still hard to believe that he is gone. It’s really sad to think that we will never get to see the great story-line that was written for him. After watching the trailer for “Fast 7” on the Facebook fan page, I really feel like crying. The story-line for Paul’s character looks very good. I can’t believe we will never get to see more Brian O’Connor and Dom scenes.
As a fan of Paul’s, I wish that I could have gone to California to attend his funeral. What a tragedy for his friends and family! He leaves behind a 15 year old daughter. He has left a great legacy behind for his daughter though. I can’t know the pain his daughter is going through at this time but I have to praise her for how strong she is being. I do believe that Meadow Walker is going to take over her father’s charity “Reach Out Worldwide”. I believe that’s a great way to honor him and she will have something that once belonged to him.
Universal Studios has been talking with Paul’s brother Cody Walker – who is 25 years old – to see if he is willing to step into the role of Brian and help finish “Fast 7”. Cody Walker would come in as a double to wrap up his brother’s scenes. I can’t imagine how hard that would be for Cody. I know it will be a great tribute to Paul and fans though and for Cody, it will show how grateful he was for his brother.
As for “The Fast and the Furious” franchise, I’m hoping that this will be the last film in light of Paul’s death. I can’t think of a good way to write out Paul’s character. I really don’t want them to kill off Brian either. It’s hard enough dealing with the fact that in real life, he is gone. My heart breaks every time I watch the movies but it also beats with appreciation for Paul, just by watching his character in “The Fast and the Furious” movies.
One of the things Paul Walker has done is inspire me to be a better person even though I have never met him. One way I am thinking of honoring Paul Walker is by getting involved in his charity, Reach Out Worldwide. I wish that I could have met him in person and told him “thank you” for everything he was doing and still doing through his daughter, even though he is no longer living. I want to do more than just donate to his charity Reach Out Worldwide. I don’t yet know what I want to do or how to help but I know I’ll figure it out. It is tragic to think that I will never get to fulfill my dream of working with Paul Walker – whether it be on “The Fast and the Furious” franchise or some other project.
Paul Walker’s character is the first thing that pulled me into “The Fast and the Furious” series. My favorite Paul Walker scenes are always are going to be the ones he shared with Vin Diesel’s character, Dominic Toretto. My favorite thing about these two characters and the actors who portrayed them was the connection they had with each other. I always loved the brotherly bond between them. I’m going to miss the mutual protectiveness and the family chemistry that they shared. I also loved Paul Walker’s interaction with Mia Toretto who is played by Jordana Brewster. I loved the chemistry he had with her as an actor. I wish Brian and Paul could have gotten the happy ending they deserved.
I truly believe Paul Walker is an angel now, watching over his family and his fans. I believe even in death he will continue to inspire people, whether we know it or not. I also believe that one day I will finally get to meet him and make him proud. Paul Walker was truly something special and was truly loved all over the world. I will never forget the incredible soul the world lost. I have always loved Paul and in my heart, I know that I always will.
